4 week course 

This is the complete tiling course for those who want to become a professional tiler. All of the training given on our 2 week course is provided along with in depth training on more complex aspects of tiling and experience of overcoming practical difficulties facing tilers.  This includes more complex work, tanking systems, under floor heating, access panels. At the end you will be tested with a complete bathroom to tile.

Week 1

• Substrates and adhesives (talk)
• Tools of the trade
• Use of different adhesives and grouts
• Mixing adhesives
• Applying adhesives
• Practical cutting (using nippers, dry and wet cutter)
• Hole cutting  (using nippers and drill bits)
• Cutting board
• Herringbone framed
• Tile around a sink
• Grouting (demo)
• Business start up and getting work/ advertising (talk) / tanking systems (demo)
• Grout sink and herringbone pattern
• Trims (Talk)
• Tile around a window including reveals
• Laser levels, water levels and chalk lines   (demo)
• Setting out for tiling, finding and setting your datum line,  (demo/talk)

Week 2

• Boxwork
• Stone theory on fixing, grouting and sealing (demo/talk), Setting up your work area (demo/talk), mosaic borders (demo)
• Setting out for floors (demo)
• Lay floor (straight set)
• Plan out your final bay
• Measuring up, Pricing and quoting a job (demo/talk/practical), Under-floor heating (demo/talk)
• Creating access panels

Week 3 and 4 

This is your chance to put into practice and perfect all that you have learned in weeks 1 and 2 , learn some more advanced techniques and measure out and complete a whole bathroom with box-work, access panel and diamond set floor.
